Jake Laufer
Owner, Operator
Raised right here in Marcellus, NY, Jake’s passion for building started early. He grew up on jobsites learning carpentry alongside his father and grandfathers—Richard Laufer (a U.S. Navy Seabee) and Edmund Skrobinski. Edmund was a true master carpenter whose custom woodwork, cabinetry, and furniture still stand in regional landmarks across Central NY, including the interior of the original Doug’s Fish Fry in Skaneateles.
Inspired by his family’s legacy, Jake earned his Associate Degree in Architecture from SUNY Morrisville in 2004. But he quickly realized that true building happens in the field, not behind a drafting desk. He spent years honing his technical discipline and hands-on skills in Syracuse with VIP Structures before launching his own contracting business.
Today, Jake leads every Rexyco build with the same craftsman discipline he learned as a kid. To ensure every home is built to modern performance standards, Jake stays continuously trained and certified in advanced building systems—including certified Wedi waterproof shower installations, Schluter systems, Therma-Tru doors, specialized resin applications, and ongoing trade education.
JNV Construction (DBA, VEL Construction)
In October of 2015, Jake went out on his own, forming JNV Construction. Primary projects included theater rooms, finished basements, bathrooms, and kitchens.
Rebranding
Originally established as JNV Construction, we officially rebranded to Rexyco LLC in 2021 as our business grew across Central New York. Today, Rexyco operates as a fully insured limited liability company, providing homeowners with complete peace of mind, full property protection, and solid craftsmanship on every build.

To deliver seamless end-to-end builds, Rexyco coordinates a trusted network of local specialists, including licensed architects, structural engineers, master electricians, plumbers, interior designers, and local financing partners. We manage every moving part and trade relationship so you have a single, direct point of contact from start to finish.
